Meath Wedding Venue
04.12.24

Located in County Meath, Ballymagarvey Village has a storied history that dates back to the 1200s when a gorgeous princess called Gwenllian married William, the son of the High King of Meath, and the two made Ballymagarvey their home. It’s only fitting that more tales of romance should start here, but continue reading for four reasons to consider a Ballymagarvey Village wedding.

    Charm, Charm, and More Charm

Ballymagarvey Village was lovingly restored twenty years ago. Since then, it has won several awards, including Venue of the Year. It’s not surprising, considering charm is around every corner, starting with the Mill Loft ceremony room. The wrought-iron chandeliers, stone walls, and white wooden beams of the former flax and corn mill create a ceremony space with a serious wow factor. The sounds of the waterfall turning the mill wheel outside only add to the charm of this space. Accommodating up to 170 guests, ceremony costs begin at €550. Outdoor ceremonies can also be arranged in Gwenllion’s Garden by the barn, accommodating up to 170 guests.

    Delicious Offerings

After the ceremony, enjoy seasonal drinks and homemade treats during the drinks reception in the Manor House or the Walled Garden. When the dinner bell sounds, you and up to 220 guests will enter the Banquet Hall, which comes to life with seasonal décor, magical fairy lights, and stylish table settings. The Conservatory Library can also be arranged for smaller weddings of up to 50 guests. A gourmet dinner is prepared by Ballymagarvey’s head chef, who works with his team to source the finest, seasonal, local produce from the Boyne Valley. Costs vary based on the specific package, season, and day of the week but range in price from €115-€190 per person. Minimum numbers apply, and a rehearsal dinner or day-after BBQ can be arranged for an additional fee.

    Accommodation and Exclusivity

There’s nothing better than exclusive venue hire for a truly personalised wedding day from start to finish. And how nice is it for guests to be able to sleep on-site? Each of the 9 Manor House rooms is cosy and full of charm. Up to 18 guests can sleep in the Manor House, with additional accommodation in the Courtyard, the Schoolhouse, and Lisa’s Secret Garden, for a total of 40 on-site bedrooms. Minimum bookings apply, but when you see how comfortable and stylish these rooms are, you’ll have no problem booking each room!

    Photo Ops

Ballymagarvey Village is such a treat to photograph that I can only imagine how fantastic it would feel to be married here. Every inch of the Manor House is perfectly decorated, and the round tower is a particularly inspiring photography location. Outside, The Courtyard has stunning doors and stone walkways that make a great backdrop. Then there’s the walkway over the Mill Pond or the chandelier tree, which is exactly what it sounds like. At night, it lights up for spectacular photo moments.

I’d be remiss not to mention The Barn and The Coach House, which can be reserved for an additional cost for morning preparations on your wedding day. Each space is gorgeously decorated and makes for fun, beautiful getting-ready photos!
