Martinstown House: A Uniquely Stunning Wedding Venue

Kildare Wedding Venue
04.14.24

Martinstown House is an hour’s drive from Dublin in The Curragh, Co. Kildare. Dating back to the 1730s, this charming country house has been carefully updated with loads of fun and unique touches tailored to the modern bride. From formal, intimate weddings in the main house to boho-chic garden weddings that end around the firepit, Martinstown House is an idyllic venue that suits every style. Read on to find out more.

One of the Family

Martinstown House is run by the Booth family, who’ll treat you like one of their own. First, the main house is super cosy; it’s perfectly polished without feeling too formal, and the delicious, home-cooked (and homegrown!) food is an absolute treat. The family hosts a selected number of weddings each year to give each couple a truly personalised celebration. They even have loads of decorative bits which you can borrow on your special day, from table numbers to a vintage VW Campervan.

Ceremony Locations for Days

While many venues charge an additional fee for ceremonies, yours is included in the overall fee. The best part? You’re spoilt for choice, with each location more beautiful than the next.

The Woodlands is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Using recycled materials, a glittering chandelier, and boatloads of creativity, the Booths transformed the estate’s abandoned glasshouse into a magnificent sight. Surrounded by trees and birdsong, you’ll feel like a woodland fairy as you walk down the aisle.

Martinstown House itself provides a charming location for smaller ceremonies. Each room is tastefully decorated, and the combination of antiques, artwork, and open fireplaces brings an element of warmth to your ceremony.

Then there are the gorgeous gardens where you can walk down the flower bed aisle in the walled garden or exchange vows under the cherry trees.

Like I said: spoilt. for. choice.

Gorgeous Photo Moments

Martinstown House is a stunner year-round. The acres of outdoor space and the brilliant colour of the gardens make this a fab summer venue, although the changing leaves are gorgeous in autumn, and there are plenty of romantic rooms throughout the house for off-season celebrations. Because of the estate’s expert design (think: pebbled walkways and the fully roofed woodlands), Irish weather really is no issue. Plus, you’d be shocked to see how gorgeous grey skies can look against the bright yellow house in photos!

Venue Hire

Regarding venue hire, the vintage marquee tent, which accommodates 50-250 guests, is available from April through October for €4,850 (weekdays) or €5,650 (weekend and bank holidays). The house is also available for smaller weddings of less than 50 guests from October-March. No matter what you opt for, the house is yours for the duration of your celebrations; however, minimum numbers do apply.

Food and Accommodation

Each of the seven gorgeous rooms in the Main House is included in the venue hire, with options to book in the night before and/or the day after for an additional €1,600 and €2,750, respectively. There are also three rooms available for booking in the Stone Yard as well as the seriously cool Glamping Tents (complete with hotel beds, heating, and USB ports) and Stable Accommodation.

Finally, the menu options vary from €69.50-€99 per person and include everything from elevated barbecue options to mouthwatering 45-day aged Irish beef striploin.

All in all, there’s loads to explore at Martinstown House, and I’d love to help you learn more. Don’t hesitate to get in touch!
