Three Reasons to Book a Sunrise Engagement Session

In photography, the term “magic hour” is often thrown around.

Essentially, it’s that time of day when the sun is lower in the sky and creates the most beautiful and dramatic golden light. It happens both in the morning and in the evening. It’s the most flattering type of light for outdoor photographs and is by far my favourite type of light to work with.

But..if you are anything like me, mornings are not your friend. However, a couple of things will get me up in the morning without grumbling. Coffee is one of them…but we are not here to discuss my love for coffee. Let’s talk about why you should consider having a sunrise engagement session. I know, I know. That means waking up at crazy o’clock…but trust me. It is worth it!

    Sunrise Is Better Than Sunset

When you opt for a sunrise engagement session…you are gaining more and more light as the shoot progresses instead of racing the clock before it’s all gone. That means you can take it slow, have a relaxing morning, and enjoy the rest of the day together after your photo session.

    Mornings Feel Calm

When did you last wake up early to watch the sunrise, snuggled up in a blanket, drinking something hot? There is nothing else quite like it! Not to mention, it feels so good to have an excuse to crawl back into bed later. You woke up early; you deserve it!

    It Will Be Just You

Stop hitting snooze and get up and out before the crowds arrive. Sunrise is the one time of day you are most likely to have that beautiful location all to yourselves, a must if you are feeling a little camera-shy.

I know I’m asking a lot from my clients to make a sunrise photoshoot happen. While I can show up in the morning without putting a lot of thought into my look since I’m behind the camera, I know my clients want to look their best, which takes extra time. I promise it will be worth it!

I have very limited availability for sunrise, so if you are interested in planning a sunrise session with me, please get in touch and let’s talk.
